A pattern can be changed to make sizes smaller or larger. For example, you could design a Medium coat, and make smaller versions of it; Small, XSmall or larger; Large, XLarge, XXLarge.

Plus size coats are not just ordinary “enlarged” styles. The sleeves would be too long, the bust very probably too tight; it wouldn't be comfortable at all!
